If you haven't noticed the request already, I'm needing to update my contact lists. So if I'm supposed to have your number or email address, leave a comment below and tell me what they are. If I didn't have it before and you want to share it, that's fine too. ^___^ The reason: I have a new cellphone. It was time to upgrade, and our old phones were dying. We're still waiting for one to arrive (I got my upgrade in the store, we had to order the other online). Before too much longer, we'll also have unlimited messaging on the phones, which means texting will be possible. It is now easier for me, since the new phones have full qwerty keyboards now. And touch screens. They is shiny! ^____^ As it is, I can also email from my phone now. If I've granted you access, you can get my email addy from this post.Hope everyone has a happy holiday! (Comments screened. Anonymous comments possible, but please be sure to let me know who the heck you are!)

jackalibis @ 10:54 am: BJD Shipping Updates
For those who care, here's the current info. If you don't care, feel free to ignore this post. ( Read more... )Happy holidays to everyone! Starting Wednesday, I won't be online much if at all until Saturday, so I'll catch you all when I get back. Having four houses to visit leaves me exhausted by the time we're done, and even though it's going to be spread out over three days, it's still more than I care to go through every time... Love you! <3

December 18th, 2009beck_liz @ 07:53 am: SNOW in Virginia! *gasp*
As a result of the Nor'easter that is forecast for tomorrow, there actually is a pretty good chance of SE Virginia getting snow tomorrow night. (Much better than I thought last night, goldy_dollar.) Cue Virginians freaking out variously: "YAY SNOW! Let's get out the sleds!" or "ACK, SNOW! Stock up on supplies!" *facepalm* Oh, Virginians. Y'all are so cute. ETA: Note that, even if it does snow here tomorrow night? It will almost certainly melt by midday on Sunday. If we even get so much as to actually cause problems driving (although that's not really that much for folks around here). Current Mood: amused

Dear Insurance Company: Please quit sucking. You were doing so good until recently! When you insist on us having an automatic bank draft for payment, it's kind of hard for us to pay you if you don't finish your end of the paperwork. Once we sign the consent forms, it's out of our hands. And we've signed the consent forms THREE TIMES ALREADY!!!Get your act together. Please?! Kthxbai, Me

jackalibis @ 08:43 am: Quick Updates
Family:
Damage to my grandmother's house is going to be fixed thanks to the insurance. Learned that there is apparently a now messy time-capsule of over 50 years worth of flooring in the living room. lol! My paternal grandfather, rest him, just laid the new flooring over the old. No wonder it was so padded! Doll: Raz is currently with the Mississauga Post Office in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. His shoes are currently still in New York City, USA, waiting for the postal service to do a pick-up for shipping. Both might arrive as early as tomorrow, and hopefully no later than Tuesday if all goes well. Photos will be available mostly in my Flicker, with some of them posted into my journals dreamkeeper and jackalibis (the latter of which will be crossposted into jackalibis and jackalibis for those of you watching there). And of course, you'll be able to see the better ones over on my deviantART page. Personal:
I haven't been feeling too great lately, and it's mostly my own fault. I keep forgetting to take the herbal treatment my grandfather bought for me. It really helps, and I really should be taking it daily, but it just slips my mind... I ended up going to bed last night at 5:30pm, waking back up around 8:30pm to get up for an hour before going back to bed. All this cold (and it's only 35F to 55F right now (1C to 12C)), so yeah, not overly cold by most people's standards, but remember, I live in the South, which is fueled by the fiery passion of Bible-thumpers preaching fire and brimstone! *snerk* Regardless, too damn cold for anyone with hyperhidrosis and arthritis, okay? This is why I don't move to Canada, regardless of having 20 people up there all wanting me to) isn't helping any, and I'm having a hard time getting good and woke up. It always being overcast isn't helping either.

December 14th, 2009jackalibis @ 12:19 am: Family Troubles...
Right now, I'm about ready to throttle one of my cousins... My grandmother is a widow. Her house was one of the last things she had from her husband. However, it was in poor repair, so she moved in with her daughter, while her youngest grandson (my cousin) moved in with his family to work on fixing it back up. Well, last night, they left a fire unattended in the fireplace... And it jumped... There is now a huge gaping hole in the side of the house. Smoke and water damage through a large majority of the house as well. My grandmother is heartbroken. I want to beat my cousin to a pulp. If I'm not too active here for a few days, it's because my grandmother needed my help with somethings... I'll keep everyone informed. -- P.S. No one was harmed in the fire. There's just severe damage to the house... This post was posted at http://jackalibis.dreamwidth.org/104955.html. jackalibis @ 09:17 am: Nothing Really Interesting
Thank you, ysobel , for posting that in the first place. I hadn't checked my YouTube subscriptions yet this morning. :D That was awesome! And sadly, nothing really interesting has been happening lately. I've just been doing a lot of fabric crafts, some knitting, and such. I'm waiting in excitement for tomorrow to come so that my DOI Luke will be in the mail and on his way (and yes, pictures will be posted once he arrives). The best thing that's come from family lately is that my father-in-law called to ask us to come down on Dec 23rd instead of the 24th like we normally do, because he'll be leaving out to go hunting. This means that when we go over, it will just be us and him instead of all the family members I don't even know by name, and have yet to even learn their names because honestly, I don't like them. There's only one other person besides Dad that is usually down there that I know his name. So, the 23rd is the father-in-law's place. The 24th is the mother-in-law's. And the 25th is my grandparents' on both sides of the family. Who luckily enough now live relatively close to each other, so it makes it easier on us to drive over there to visit. ^__^ I could get used to this. At least the holidays won't feel so rushed this year. And Ronin's camera came in yesterday! I've got to go ahead and pull it out of the packaging (makes it easier Christmas morning, since I know he's going to want to play with it immediately). My grandparents bought it for him, but went ahead and had it sent here since a) I was paying for it using my paypal account and they were going to pay me back, and b) I'm better at wrapping presents. (I've learned how to wrap most gifts in the traditional Japanese way that doesn't require any tape. I absolutely love it! Even when I do have to use tape, though, I'm a perfectionist with wrapping it, so I ensure it's all crisp and neat.) So, expect some pictures to be popping up from him, too. I'll let him make the journal post. *snicker* That should be fun. I'm teaching him how to type. While I'll have to help him spell several of the words, he should be able to make a short post himself. Or I'll let him do a vlog post one and upload it that way. I guess it depends on what he wants to do.

jackalibis @ 07:12 am: Holiday Presents, Sniffles & Other Things
First off, I have a sinus and ear infection. It sucks. Especially the ear infection. Especially since said ear infection was a direct result of some immature idiot sticking his finger in my ear (wet willy). You know, when you're trying to get on your fiance's best friend's good side, showing her that you act less mature than her five-year-old is really not the way to go. I officially lothe the idiot. (He also gave away the stove to someone else that was supposed to be ours that we were having to wait for them to have a day to bring it to us... Bastard. Now we have to go stove hunting again too.) In good news, I finished my grandparents' holiday presents last night. And in only an hour, at that, because I had to get it finished quickly due to severe weather, but I was able to get it done, so yay! Without sacrificing the quality in appearance, which is great (I cheated on the inside and didn't trim the thread and all that stuff, but the only person who might ever see that is my grandmother if she ever needs to fix them for whatever reason). My grandparents collect all things John Deere, and my grandfather even works for them. So when I found the fabric among the remnants with enough to be able to make these, I bought it and spent an hour making them last night during the severe weather... >_> And GAH! I'm hungry... >_< I have no reason to be this hungry, but I am. It sucks... Especially since it's still a few more days before we get the money for groceries and are on slim pickings, none of which is good to have to eat for breakfast and will make me sick to my stomach if I eat it for breakfast. Dammit... Well, I'm off to find myself something... I don't know what, since I know we're out of actual breakfast foods, but still... If I complain about being sick later, you know why...
